5 days in advance.
-
Player Cancellation
– 5 or more days prior to the scheduled event. If you are
unable to play after you have already made your reservation, payment
shall be applied to another league play date or it may be refunded.
We prefer applying to another league play date to cut down on
volunteer’s time with paperwork. The League Play coordinator must be
notified 5 calendar days in advance.
-
Player Cancellation
– within 5 days, with replacement. If you are unable
to play after you have already made your reservation, and it is
within 5 calendar days of the event, you may find an EWGA member to
play in your place. Please notify your league play coordinator of
your replacement as soon as possible, and make any financial
arrangements with your replacement.
-
Player Cancellation

another league play date or refunded. As a courtesy, please notify
your League Play Coordinator as soon as possible that you will not
be able to participate, so foursomes can be rearranged.

On and
Around the Course |
|
-
Please arrive early.
Each day’s play is a shotgun start promptly at 5:30. This means you
must be checked in, in your cart and at your assigned hole by 5:30.
You may want to allow some time for warming up, too!
-
If you choose NOT TO COMPETE for prizes that are based on your golf
score,
and to maintain speed of play, you may pick up your ball on any hole
and proceed to the next hole. On your scorecard, mark the maximum
number of strokes you may take followed by an “X” to indicate you
picked up your ball without finishing that hole.
Please refer to the following for maximum number of
strokes you may take per hole:
Mark 10X …if you have not established a handicap
Mark 10X …if your handicap is 40 or above
Mark 9X… if your handicap is 30-39
Mark 8X… if your handicap is 20-29
Mark 7X… if your handicap is 10-19
Score double bogey followed by “X” …if your handicap is
9 or less.
Don’t worry – at the end of the league there will be
other prizes that are not based on your scores, so if you don’t want
to compete in this way, you may still win something!
If you choose TO COMPETE for prizes based on your golf
score
(Low Gross, Low Net, Most Improved) you must complete each hole and
mark your scorecard with the total number of strokes for each hole
(even if it is more than the maximum allowed for your handicap as
listed above). Please be sure to ask your league play coordinator for
assistance if needed.
-
Summer rules apply.
This means that you hit the ball from where it lands – no moving the
ball to a better lie. (Please refer to your Golf Rules card for
rules about relief from hazards or obstacles.)
-
Be ready to play.
-
Walk at reasonable
speed between shots.
-
Prepare for your
next shot while others are hitting or getting ready to hit. Go to
your ball (as long as you are not in their way) or at least start
thinking about your shot – the distance, what club you will use,
where you want to hit it. Don’t wait until you are at your ball to
begin this process.
-
Don’t spend more
than 1-2 minutes looking for your ball.
-
If you have to
walk far away from your cart to find your ball, take a selection
of clubs with you (for this shot and potentially the next shot),
so you won’t have to waste time coming back to the cart for
another club.
-
From the time you
select your club until you actually hit your shot, you should take
no more than 30 to 45 seconds
-
One practice swing
only! At most 2-3 small ones when preparing to chip.
-
Putt out if your
putt finishes close to the hole (as long as you are not on another
player’s line).
-
When on the
putting green, place any extra clubs off the green in the
direction of your cart, so you won’t have to go out of your way to
retrieve them when you finish putting.
-
Wait until you
reach the next tee-box to record your scores. Move away form the
green as soon as you can to allow the next group to hit up.
-
Be courteous.
-
Don’t talk or make
noises when a player is preparing for her shot.
-
Do not stand where
you may distract a player who is putting, and don’t move.
-
Please turn your
cell phone off.
-
Rake the bunker
for the next unfortunate player whose ball may land there.
