Member Renewal

·       We sometimes hear from members and Chapter leaders about the confusion of joining or renewing using the online process on the EWGA website.

·         Submit your renewals either by mail or fax if you encounter any issues when trying to use the online system.

·         A link to download the Renewal Form is  on the main screen once members login to ewga.com.

·         Members need to send an email to member@myewga.com or call the toll free number at 800-407-1477 x16 if they want to add a second Chapter (a dual membership) to their record.

·        Please note that anyone who chooses to join at the Senior or Young Professional categories must include their birth date on the form and submit by fax or mail (rather than joining online.)

2012 Fairway of Friends

This is the year to find your ”E” reason for belonging to EWGA – and for sharing it with others.  You are invited to participate in the Expand Your Fairway of Friends membership campaign to Experience how you have the power to positively impact a friend or colleague’s career and personal life by Encouraging her to join EWGA.  Ask her to include your name as her recruiter when she fills out her member application so you will receive credit for your Efforts.  Find the list of program rules and prizes, and keep track of your progress, by checking the spreadsheet posted in the EWGA Member Library inside the Member Clubhouse on EWGA.com.”

Participating in the membership campaign is easy!
1. Make a list of your friends and colleagues not currently associated with EWGA.
2. Invite them to an EWGA event with you; share your story about what EWGA means to you.
3. Download EWGA applications, request a few from member services, or encourage your friends to join online at www.ewga.com.
4. Write in your name on the member referral line of the application (or remind your friends to enter your name if they are joining online).
5. Have your friends submit their application either electronically or via mail or fax.
When we receive applications with your name included, we will begin to count your new member recruits. We’ll welcome each new member to EWGA with a personalized message that lets them know YOU are adding them to your ‘Fairway of Friends’ and look forward to golfing and networking with them this year.
You will also be earning great prizes from Nike Golf depending on the number of new members you recruit. Nike prizes will be awarded in the following categories (you will earn the prize in the top category you reach in your recruitment efforts):

2-4 members recruited
5-7 members recruited
8-10 members recruited

Top Recruiter in each Chapter – recruit a “foursome” (4+) to qualify and receive a shoulder tote and a dozen Nike golf balls. Recruiter of the Year - recruit 11+ to qualify

The eligible top recruiters will each receive a gift certificate for a pair of Nike Golf shoes.
Top recruiters will each receive a complimentary renewal of their membership for the following year, and be recognized on stage at the EWGA Annual Conference in April, 2013 (location TBD).
The Recruiter of the Year will be randomly selected from the eligible top recruiters and win the Ultimate Nike Package: A head to toe set of Nike fashion clothing; custom fitting for a new set of Nike Clubs at Nike HQ outside Portland, OR with a tour of the facility; airfare and hotel included.

Dufner wins and spikes the ball (or not)

Jason Dufner is not sleepwalking to stardom, though his demeanor might suggest otherwise. If he weren't an Auburn man, one might conclude that he is an adherent of the old Bear Bryant line, that when you get to the end zone, act like you've been there before.

He's now gotten to the end zone twice in three starts, the second coming when he holed a 25-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole of the HP Byron Nelson Championship on Sunday to beat a 'Bama man, Dicky Pride, by a shot.

"Jason won by one, but we've got the national title, big man," Pride said, showing more emotion for finishing second than Dufner did for winning, perhaps for good reason. Pride, 41, had been 354th in the World Ranking and has now earned a return to the PGA Tour full-time.

"All my buddies on the Nationwide Tour?" he said. "Guys, I love you, but I'm staying out here."

Meanwhile, Dufner, 35 and following a nondescript start to his career, is now, in fact, sprinting to stardom, this victory carrying him into the top 10 in the World Ranking and evoking a hint of a smile in the aftermath. His two PGA Tour victories have come in the last month, in between which he got married. Presumably, though not undoubtedly, he smiled in the wedding photo.

Morgan Pressel in position to capture first victory since 2008

GLADSTONE, N.J. -- Winning the Sybase Match Play Championship would be quite an early birthday present for Morgan Pressel, who turns 24 next Wednesday. Given the recent arc of her career, though, just making it to Sunday morning's semifinals is a well-earned gift in itself.

Pressel's best finish in 2012 was a T-20 at the Kia Classic. She is looking for her first victory since 2008. After a rousing comeback victory over No. 2 seed Na Yeon Choi Saturday morning, Pressel defeated Anna Nordqvist 5 and 4 Saturday afternoon. For Pressel, who will face 24-year-old Azahara Munoz of Spain on Sunday, this week has been a big step forward. (Candie Kung and Vicky Hurst will square off in the other semifinal.)

"No matter what happens, this is the best I've played in a long time," Pressel said. "I finally feel comfortable with my game again to a point where I haven't been in a while. I'm going to give it everything I have tomorrow. But I just have a lot of confidence going into the heart of the season."

Pressel has been working recently with instructor Ron Stockton, previously her short-game coach, on all parts of her game. She is trying to recapture some of the magic that made her the youngest winner (18 years, 10 months, 9 days) of an LPGA major championship at the 2007 Kraft Nabsico.

"Certainly people put expectations on me -- the media, the fans, my sponsors, everybody wants me to play well," Pressel said. "Having won the Kraft so young, I'm never going to say it was a bad thing. I mean, I'm a major champion, the youngest in LPGA history. I probably more than anybody else put extra pressure on myself to really be a world-beater, and I don't think I was quite ready for that and don't think I was quite mature enough for that."
